About Us
What is Fish Fish Collective?
Fish Fish Collective is anything and everything that we (JT & Nina) love: game making, design, art, and connecting with others through a shared love of all of these things. We create simply because we cannot help it.
Through multiple different mediums, we aim to share our stories and life philosophies in fun, interactive, and visually pleasing ways. Whether through zines, video games, playing cards, paintings, prints, ceramics—whatever—our goal is to keep on doing what we’re passionate about. And our hope is that you enjoy what we create!
A Collective of Two
As a teeny weeny company of two our dream is to one day bring other creatives in on the fun! One day, we want to create a space where people can feel empowered to follow their artsy dreams with us.
Meet JT & Nina
In 2017 freshman Nina met sophomore JT in a Design I course as first year architecture students. Our chemistry was instant, and we quickly became best friends, talking about anything and everything we could for hours on end.
For the next 6-ish years, we would go on to experience changing majors, a drifting friendship, reconnection, falling in love, moving in together, and figuring out life. Which brings us to the year 2023 where JT is an Arch I for an architecture firm and Nina is a graphic designer for a small corporate company, both of us feeling simultaneously burnt out and guilty for not creating.
So, we decided to take time to intentionally rest and focus on ourselves. After a few months of chill time, we knew it was time to “zill out” AKA go Godzilla mode. We figured if we’re already burnt out, why don’t we just continue being burnt out while also getting to make the things we want to make?
Thus, Fish Fish Collective was born! With JT’s amazing game making, writing, and ideating skills and Nina’s designing, arting, and creature making skills, we are the perfect team. FFC is our dream come true, and we can’t wait to see what our future holds.
We are still trying to figure out how to start and run a business, but we both know one thing, that we can’t deny our need to create.
